Course Description (Syllabus):

This course introduces a new paradigm in Integrated Project Delivery with the integration of online data management, Immersive Realities, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence.

This course aims to provide engineers with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively contribute to Integrated Project Delivery projects using the latest technology. Though most often associated with Civil Engineering and the construction industry, IPD can be applied to any engineering field where the contribution of different stakeholders is required for the successful delivery of a project.

The course will begin by introducing participants to the concept of IPD, providing a detailed definition and overview of the process. Participants will gain an understanding of the benefits and challenges of IPD, and how it differs from traditional project delivery methods.

The course then elevates the concept of IPD by introducing online data management and Immersive Realities as a means for better communication, collaboration, visualization and decision making among the project team..

The course will delve into the specific responsibilities of engineers in IPD projects. Participants will learn about the importance of engineers in the successful implementation of IPD, and how their technical knowledge and skills are crucial to the process. The course will also explore how online data management and immersive realities significantly improves interdisciplinary collaboration required in IPD, and how engineers can interact with other stakeholders in an immersive reality environment to ensure project success.

Additionally, participants will gain insights into the engineering knowledge and skills relevant to IPD, including both technical and soft skills necessary for effective implementation. The course will also feature case studies, exploring both the philosophy and culture and the implementation of data management and immersive realities in successful IPD projects, providing participants with real-world examples of engineers' contributions to such projects.

Learning Outcomes: By completing this course you will learn:
